We are delighted to announce that Amida Hampton was awarded the coveted Flame award for the Uk Health Club of the Year 2005 by the Fitness Industry Association on 21st September 2005.
UK Day Spa of the Year 2005
We are pleased to annonunce that on 28th February 2005 Amida Hampton followed in the footsteps of Amida Beckenham by winning the coveted UK Day Spa of the Year Award which was presented at the Professional Beauty Gala Dinner.
The most recent addition to a string of awards, Amida Hampton hopes to win the much sought after UK Health Club of the Year Flame Award later this year.
Best Single Use Leisure Scheme 2005
Amida was one of 16 best retail and leisure schemes honoured at the awards ceremony held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on 25th June and hosted by TV personality Rory Bremner. The award applauds the best in the business in retail and leisure property sectors over the last year. The judges agreed that Amida had raised the stakes in the health and leisure sector. They looked for high standards of design and management as well as commercial success and acknowledged the fact that Amida had signed up 3000 members before opening.
On collecting the award Max Wildsmith commented, 'This is an incredible achievement for all those who have been involved in designing and launching Amida Racquets and Fitness Spa which only opened last January. It is a triumph too for all those who have since put considerable energy into the operation, delivering high quality service to match the superb facilities available, for Amida's members and day spa visitors.'
Most Innovative Leisure Building Design Concept 2004
Amida, the luxury racquets and fitness spa in Hampton was awarded the Leisure Report 'The Most Innovative Leisure Building Design' award at a gala dinner and awards ceremony held at The Royal Lancaster Hotel. The awards, known as 'The Leopards' have been launched by Leisure Report to recognise the leisure industry's most innovative concepts and people. Winning this award amidst stiff competition from some other high profile nominees such as Centre Parcs was no mean feat but is a testimony to the unique approach that Amida has compared to normal health Clubs.

In addition to the The Most Innovative Leisure Building Design', Amida was runner-up for the 'Most Innovative Spa Concept Award'.

UK Health Club of the Year 2004
On Wednesday 22nd September 2004 Amida Beckenham was delighted to be awarded the top industry award of UK Health Club of the Year (2,500+ category). It was a fantastic achievement for all of us. The actual citation read out in front of thousands of industry people at the gala dinner presentation was as follows:
"The winner of the Club of the year in the 2,500+ category has made significant and ground breaking progress to widen the appeal of health and fitness of all ages. They have made an industry leading commitment to developing relaxation and wellness as an essential element of the Club offer.
They have won, not for its fantastic and extensive range of facilities, which are hugely impressive but for their commitment to service excellence. It offers Members unrivalled activity and class programming and a vibrant and active social programme that other clubs should aspire to".
UK Day Spa of the Year 2003
After only 18 months of trading Amida Beckenham won the prestigious "UK Day Spa of the Year 2003" awarded to them by The Professional Beauty Magazine, which hosted the annual awards for the Beauty & Spa industry on 23rd March.
"This was a tremendous achievement for a club that has racquets and fitness as its core products and sits very well with its Mission Statement which is, "To attain standards by which others will judge themselves", said Graham Thomas, Chief Executive.
The Amida team has invested a considerable amount of time, money and expertise to ensure that the club's Day Spa offering, which includes a hydrotherapy pool, relaxation pool, cold plunge, sauna, steam room and sanarium, along with its 8 therapy rooms, can compete with the top dedicated Day Spas in the country. Winning the UK Day Spa of the Year award was recognition of the team's success in ensuring that Amida Spa continues to provide the ultimate Day Spa experience.
Amida scored heavily on its beautiful treatment rooms and treatment offering from product houses, including Kanebo, Elemis, Phytomer and Nails by Jessica. The treatments range from all inclusive Day Spa packages such as The Exotic Voyage of Touch through to individual luxurious treatments, for example The Koakuma Karada (Kanebo) and Exotic Frangipani Body Nourish Wrap (Elemis) and, of course, regular "maintenance" treatments such as manicures, pedicures, waxing and makeovers, all of which are executed with the high level of service and professionalism that is evident throughout the whole club.
"We have all worked extremely hard and are madly passionate about our business. We always knew we probably had one of the best Racquets and Fitness clubs in the UK and now we can truly say, we also have one of the best Spas. Our therapist team is second to none and we are all truly ecstatic to have won this prestigious award", said the General Manager, Mark Amos.

Amida Beckenham was delighted to be nominated a finalist for the second year and to be a runner-up was an honour.
The judging process involved 3 leading industry people to visit the Club, who all gave some fantastic feedback on our Day Spa offering. One of the judges quoted, "I enjoyed my time with you immensely and found all your staff without exception to be courteous, helpful and professional ..... I was extremely impressed by everyone's energy and enthusiasm."
